Slide 1 of 4

The 1% Reality

Imagine all the water on Earth is in this tank.

97% is Salt Water.

2% is Frozen Ice.

1% is Fresh & Drinkable.

Lesson: We cannot "make" more water. We must protect the tiny 1% slice we have.

Virtual Water

Water isn't just for drinking; it's for growing.

1 lb of Beef = 1,800 gallons (Feed + Hydration)

1 lb of Wheat = 130 gallons (Rain + Irrigation)

Lesson: Eating less meat is the single biggest way to lower your water footprint.

The Evaporation Rule

Watering at Noon? Bad idea. The sun evaporates 50% of the water before it helps the plant.

Watering at Dawn or Dusk? The water sinks deep into the soil.

Lesson: Don't water the air. Water the soil.

The Silent Leak

A running toilet is the most common cause of high water bills.

The Test: Put food coloring in the tank. If color appears in the bowl without flushing, the "flapper" is broken.

Lesson: A $5 part (the flapper) can save you $100 a year.
