Cunning, agile, and incredibly adaptable, the Red Fox is the largest of the true foxes. They look especially striking against the colors of autumn as they prepare for the coming winter.
The red fox has the widest geographical range of any Carnivora member. They thrive in deep forests where their rusty coat provides perfect camouflage among fallen leaves.
Researchers believe red foxes can "see" the Earth's magnetic field. They use it like a targeting system to judge distance before pouncing on prey hidden under piles of leaves or snow.
Foxes prefer to jump in a north-easterly direction.
