Future Architects Challenge

Build the Greenest Home on the Block.

Can you design a sustainable house on a tight budget? Learn the science of green architecture while you play.

Buildings are Hungry.

Did you know that buildings consume nearly 40% of the world's energy? That's more than all the cars, planes, and trains combined!

By designing smarter homes, we can reduce carbon emissions, save forests, and keep our air clean. It's not just about saving moneyโ€”it's about saving our future.

The Green Toolkit

Master these concepts to win the game.

Thermal Envelope

Think of a house like a thermos. If you have gaps (drafts) or thin walls, heat escapes. Insulation and tight Windows seal the "envelope," so you don't waste energy heating the outdoors.

Passive Design

Before buying fancy tech, use nature! Shade Trees cool the house in summer, while south-facing windows let winter sun in. This is called "Passive Solar" because it requires no electricity.

Efficiency First

Don't just generate power; use less of it! LED Lights use 75-80% less energy than old bulbs. It's always cheaper to save energy (efficiency) than to generate it (solar panels).
